About the Vibe Here

The joy of practicing massage isn't just about the physical art of bodywork; for me, so much happiness comes from interacting with the many people I have the privelege of caring for. I welcome everyone here - the wild-spirited wanderers, the quiet and introverted, the stressed-out souls, the tired, the lost, the weird, the stoic, the buttoned-up business types, the free-thinkers, the open-minded, the firmly rooted, and everyone in between. Massage is for everyone. We live in a chronically touch-deprived world, which research shows can have disastrous effects on our mental and physical health. Professional massage and bodywork, provided in a consensual, safe, positive, and controlled environment, is a powerful way to counteract the negative effects of living in a touch-deprived society (not to mention its many other mental and physical health benefits). I welcome and work on infants, children, and adults. My practice is focused on restoring balance and function to the physical body, and I take pride in promoting your overall health and wellness through gentle education, supportive listening, and tailored treatments. My treatment room is a safe, non-judgemental environment where you can relax your body and mind. I have created this space as an intentionally welcoming one and it is meant for everybody; there is no room here for judgement or discrimination of any kind. I do not tolerate hateful speech or discriminatory language in any form, including against others' religious practices or lack of religion, a person's sexuality or gender identification, skin color, body size, background, economic status, or nationality. Massage and bodywork is for everyone, and kindness and humanitarianism are guiding principles in my practice. This is an LGBTQ+-friendly practice.

Hello! Nice to meet you!

About Me

Hello! I’m Vanessa Jimison. I’ve been a licensed massage therapist since 2006. I've been having a love affair with all things health and human-body-related as far back as I can remember - one memory that stands out for me is from when I was about 5. My family was living in Büdingen, Germany, and my mom and I were at the post office, where she was mailing a package home to family in the States. A little boy was also there with his mother. He was a little younger than me, and he had a bright white patch concealing one eye, with medical tape wrapped all the way around his head. The skin around his eye was red and puffy. I remember feeling intensely curious about it, so I asked him why he was wearing the patch and if it hurt, but he was too shy to answer and hid under the worn wooden packing table where black ink pens hung from little silver chains. I was so disappointed that I couldn't find out what happened, and looking back, it seems like such a tiny moment in time, but the intensity of that feeling has stayed with me. I wanted to understand what happened to his eye, I wanted to see beneath the patch, I wanted to make him feel better. My interest and fascination with human bodies and health continued as I got older. I was inspired by the story of Clara Barton, founder of the American Red Cross and Civil War nurse, and I went on to become a medic in the Army. I have completed several personal training and sports nutrition programs (although I am not offering personal training at this time). My never-ending quest for knowledge has translated so far into extensive training in multiple massage modalities, which I incorporate into fully customized massage sessions for you each time you are on my table. Even after nearly 20 years of practicing massage, I am learning new things all the time, and am always excited to share new ways of working the body with you! I believe in the power of positive touch to restore calm, to reduce anxiety and stress, to encourage a healthy connection to our physical selves, to support the body in maintaining equilibrium, and to provide healing and nurturing support for our mental health.
